![]() ![]() I definitely don't agree about Enu being a helpless submissive stereotype- she hasn't needed any saving in the game yet, and doesn't come across as submissive to me at all, at least so far. She's one of those rare characters that- for me at least- hits the right notes, and is easily one of my favorite characters in the series to date. Having said all that, I kind of love Enu. On a related note, I also can't stand Zooey Deschanel in the vast majority of roles I've seen her in. Not that there's anything wrong with quirky women in real life, or in well written media- the problem for me is that too many writers will fall back on stereotypically "unconventional" tastes, forced social awkwardness, and overly affected mannerisms as a sort of lazy shorthand for quirkiness, and do it in a way that rings very false to me. I find most excessively cute, quirky, twee, slightly bumbling female characters in films, TV, and other media to be insufferable. I can definitely sympathize with the feeling, though I don't feel the same way about Enu. (But in a game - I have to agree - that sucks.) In conclusion: Like in the real world, not everyone will seem likeable to you. forced a kiss on me even though I rejected her the first time. I don't dislike her as a person but I sometimes dislike her actions. Another brownie point.)īut I understand how you feel, because I don't like Anna that much. (She likes Kian and wants to know more about him. (She was happy that I didn't kill the soldier.) That fact makes me like her even more and the conversation you have with her on the watch too. What I also like about her is, that she cares about others. (Scene in the bar) If she wouldn't realize this by herself I may not like her that much either, because it would mean she has a very bad self-awareness and that would annoy me too. I think she's adorable, positive thinking and honest and she knows when she said something not so funny. Yes I had to sigh in Book 3 too.) For me those jokes and awkwardness only shows that she is kind of insecure? (my interpretation)īut I still like her. sometimes her lines are a bit cheesy or may seem to be forced but I think that's how her character is? She seems a little awkward around others and is someone who wants to be liked? (The (un)funny jokes she sometimes makes to appeal/impress (to) others, proof it. The solution to these enigmatic words is Etta, as fans have immediately recognized Sarah's voice in her few sentences spoken during Book 1.As for me: I like her. However, Ragnar Tørnquist said that her role would not necessarily be her usual one, that of April Ryan. During the Kickstarter, Sarah Hamilton was confirmed as a voice actress for Chapters – actually, she was the only confirmed voice actor for years. As such, her name shares a meaning with her daughter's (as 'saga', according to the dictionary, is "a long story of heroic achievement, especially a medieval prose narrative in Old Norse or Old Icelandic"). In Book Four, Saga mentions that her father's name for where Etta came from is "Midgard", which (along with her unusual skin and hair colour) she may be somehow related to Norse mythology.Īdditionally, Etta's name is similar to the word 'edda', which is a collection of Norse myths and poems. ![]() She appears to be a writer and has acute senses, being able to tell that there is someone else in the house when the white dragon visits Saga.īetween the events of Interlude I (Book 1) and Interlude II (Book 3), Etta has been missing from the House and Saga seems to have grown up without knowing her. "Recently renovated, low interest-rates, unbound from space an time, never twice the same neigbourhood, comes with one beautiful baby girl and a sexy, willing wife." ―Etta and MagnusĮtta is an inhabitant of the House of All Worlds, together with her husband Magnus and their daughter Saga. "You're starting to sound like a real-estate agent." This is our anchor, in time and space, in all worlds past, present and future." ![]()
